Auldawg I'll do a back alley bet that my team is better than yours.. I never said the Nets are better than the Lakers but then again I didn't get Magic nor did I have 5G's to spend either. I have to admit that you've combined your good lotto fortune and good planning to build a team that can compete now and in seasons to come. We'll need another couple of seasons and some of that good luck before we get there. On a side note, you channelling your inner Dr. Buss spending that kind of cash?

The Lakers will be good no doubt, but if the cash had been more reasonable they could have used it to strengthen in other areas too... it's just a lot of cash, especially when you consider bailing the Bulls out of a horrible cap situation, plus Dwight is expiring.
If you can resign Dwight then it doesn't look nearly as bad. It's just very risky, this game is SO unpredictable.

Dwight will leave LA once again. PFW, Loyalty, Greed.... I think you might be hard-pressed to find an experienced GM who puts any faith in those numbers...just sayin'

Auldawg...I was top 3 odds for 3 seasons in a row...Odds are odds...I finally hit.....It's not like I got lucky...I was strategic....and as far as money goes - I traded Spree and Meriweather 3 seasons ago and was only able to grab $3,000...5 season back alley bet...worse team pays the better $100 per season for 5 seasons...lol we can negotiate...pm me... JBrown...if I lose him I might quit, lol. But hopefully i win a lot of games, he remains loyal, then I have Magic, Dwight, Mickey, and Joe J for 3 seasons...I can live with that. Cop...Same offer to you that I sent to Auldawg....

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any person who understands statistics that would put any faith in two tiny samples You know there are other leagues, and this is IBA's second league right? Those numbers are pretty worthless IMO

Those numbers are pretty worthless IMO I mean honestly I put far more faith in the idea the developer wouldn't do extra work that made no impact to create those ratings than I would in the idea that based on a limited observation that those numbers do nothing.

So when you're drafting do you look at those numbers?

So when you're drafting do you look at those numbers? No because 4/5 years of control negates the majority of the impact of those numbers, otherwise yes I pay attention to them.

Yes, you had INCREASED odds but it still takes some luck, i.e. you win the #1 pick and it also happens to be a season in which Magic is in the draft. Its not likely that any other player from that draft is ever an all star so if you don't get the 1st pick, you're likely tanking another season, at least...hence, luck!

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any person who understands statistics that would put any faith in two tiny samples No clue what you mean by that That a small sample size does not result in statistically significant data and the fact that any data supporting this is sourced from anecdotal reports full of recency and confirmation bias.
