GM Forsyth (off stage): I’d like to speak on behalf of everyone here at the Sacramento Kings franchise and welcome all of you to the Kings Preseason Media Session! Here we have second-year King PF Julius Randle, who was resigned through the 1992 season and…(whispers to assistant)… I apologize for the inconvenience, folks, but it seems someone forgot to inform Kings C Joel Embiid that he was to speak after our workout today! We’ll have him available to you once he gets dressed. Alright! Lets get started. Reporter: Hello Julius. Mike Stamford, Sacramento Gazette. Your new contract is worth more than $139 million over the next 6 years. Many have questioned the Kings’ management for offering such a deal to a player that was viewed almost universally as a “non-max” player. What do you have to say to these people? PF Julius Randle: I’m extremely appreciative to the Kings organization for giving me this chance. I know the type of player that I am, and one of the main reasons I decided to come back to Sacramento was that the Kings see the type of player I am as well. To the people that think I’m not good enough for this contract, you're gonna wish you had thought of this when they did. Reporter: This is Julie Wise, NBA Today. You played one week in Seattle before being traded here to the Kings last season. What allowed you to play so much more effectively here, than in Seattle? PF Julius Randle: I loved my time in Seattle. I played the 1985 season with them, and playing with a legend like Moses Malone for an entire year really gave me so much knowledge about the game and allowed me to develop into a more well rounded player. Once I arrived in Sacramento, I was paired up with Joel and they just let us go to work every night. I feel like they viewed me as more of a centerpiece here, and thats what allowed me to flourish. Reporter: Jim Halpert, Scranton Times. Where do you see yourself improving the most in this upcoming season? PF Julius Randle: Thats a great question. I’ve been working extremely hard here in Sacramento ever since I resigned. I feel like I’ve done a good job of preparing myself and making myself as well-rounded of a player as I can. That said, I’ve been talking with Forsyth a lot, as well as our new coach Brian Cardinal, and we’ve been discussing more ways to make the team more efficient and effective as we try to make our push towards the top. The main area I’m looking to improve in is my offensive aggressiveness. If this franchise is going to pay me max money, I’m gonna have to earn it. GM Forsyth ( off stage): I’d like to welcome Kings C Joel Embiid to the festivities! Please, take a seat Joel. Reporter: Joel, Jim Ballonass here, Los Angeles Times. The Kings have acquired rookie SG Michael Finley and veteran PG Pooh Richardson to fill out the starting 5. However, many people think your team will still be mediocre. Do you think you guys can win now? (Julius stares blankly at idiotic reporter, Joel looks to SForsyth off stage to see if this dumbass is forreal) GM Forsyth (off stage): Alright, well with that we'll open up the floor to IBA GMs to ask questions of their own. Questions can be asked either to Joel, Julius, or myself. Ask away!

Question: Will player/coach Joel Embiid ever be given the opportunity to become the franchise's head coach? We've just hired on a rookie head coach in Brian Cardinal, who all NBA Mavs fans can appreciate because of his heroics during the 2011 Championship run (the Heat still suck btw), so for now the position is filled. However, I can definitely say that we'd love to have Joel take part in the coaching duties. We have an open assistant job right now... so who knows

This question is for Joel.
Why did you take less money to head to struggling Sacramento Kings when the championship contending Pacers offered you more money and more years?

This question is for Joel. Why did you take less money to head to struggling Sacramento Kings when the championship contending Pacers offered you more money and more years? Joel Embiid: "Frank that's a great question. To be frank (pun intended) with you, it all came down to market size and pitch. The Kings are in a more upscale market, and it pissed me off living in bum fuck INDIANA. I couldn't find a decent strip club to save my life, where the strippers were fat as fuck and married to their cousins. So basically the Kings came in, offered me the chance to be a franchise centerpiece, and SForsyth showed me all of the great strip clubs here in Sacramento as well as their plan to improve as a franchise. I couldn't pass it up. NBA Joel doesn't care about winning either, he plays for the 76ers for goodness sake. So yeah, I have no problem playing in Sacramento."
